I was listening to NPR today and there were some callers that supported Sara Palin simply because they said “I can relate to her, I’m a working mother” “I like her energy” “she’s hot” “I’ve raised kids” and some other crazy comments I can’t remember. That is scary.

What da F does that have to do with running the country?

Sarah Palin doesn’t have shit on Joe Bidens repertoire.

Lets compa
re Governor Sarah Palin to Senior Senator Joe Biden:

She’s been a Governor for less than 2 years in a small town in Alaska.
Her education: She attended Matanuska-Susitna College in Alaska for one term, returning to the University of Idaho to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in communications-journalism. Again Scary.

There is a 1 in 3 chance that McCain will not survive his first term. (True fact) Having her as a President is so scary.

Joe Biden has been involved in foreign policy since the 70’s.. and ran for president before, I think but backed out at the last min, due to funding.

More about Senior Sen. Joe Biden:
(please read, Can be verified on Wikipedia)

Biden is also a long-time member and current chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. In 1997, he became the ranking minority member and chaired the committee from June 2001 through 2003. When Democrats re-took control of the Senate following the 2006 elections, Biden again assumed the top spot on the committee in 2007. His efforts to combat hostilities in the Balkans in the 1990s brought national attention and influenced presidential policy: traveling repeatedly to the region, he made one meeting famous by calling Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic a “war criminal.” Biden’s subsequent “lift and strike” resolution was instrumental in convincing President Bill Clinton to use military force in the face of systemic human rights violations.

Biden stated in 2002 that Saddam Hussein was a threat to national security, and that there was no option but to eliminate that threat. The Bush administration rejected an effort Biden undertook with Senator Richard Lugar to pass a resolution authorizing military action only after the exhaustion of diplomatic efforts. In October 2002, Biden voted in favor of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq, justifying the Iraq War. He has long supported the appropriations to pay for the occupation, but has argued repeatedly that the war should be internationalized, that more soldiers are needed, and that the Bush administration should “level with the American people” about the cost and length of the conflict.

Barack Obama’s Education:
a Senator from Illinois; born in Honolulu, Hawaii, August 4, 1961; obtained early education in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Hawaii; continued education at Occidental College, Los Angeles, Calif.; received a B.A. in 1983 from Columbia University, New York City; worked as a community organizer in Chicago, Ill.

studied law at Harvard University, where he became the first African American president of the Harvard Law Review, and received J.D. in 1991; lecturer on constitutional law, University of Chicago; member, Illinois State senate 1997-2004; elected as a Democrat to the U.S. Senate in 2004 for term beginning January 3, 2005.

Please post your comments on this issue.

Don’t ignore the facts.

Thank you for your time on this matter. We have two very smart people running on the democratic ticket.

JB

For those of us that have skype you know what I mean. That annoying number that comes up on the caller ID dispay 0000123456 or unavailable. Skype fixed this on June 6th ‘o8! If you have a skype out number, just goto your account settings and click the check box display caller ID info. It’s that easy. (You have to do this manually though) -good work skype team! about time.

There’s lots of different ways to crush a soda can… with your foot, in your hands, on your head. But nothing compares to the fun you’ll have doing the soda can implosion experiment. Just wait until the can goes “POP” and then you’ll see who has nerves of steel.

WARNING: This experiment requires the use of a burner on a stove to heat some water. Children should not perform this experiment without adult supervision (and adults shouldn’t do it either unless a really smart kid is watching over their shoulder!).

Materials

You’ll need a few empty soda cans for this experiment. So, start searching through the trash for those cans or get ready to quench your thirst because it’s time to start emptying those soda cans. In addition to the empty pop cans, you’ll need a stove or hot plate, a pair of cooking tongs, gloves and a bowl of cold water.

Mary Nolan from the food network shares an easy and delicious menu for a cozy night on the couch

Mary puts a modern twist on movie night with an award-winning feast. First, Mary whips up some savory movie night nibbles like Bucatini Marinara with Sausage and Mesclun with Prosciutto Grissini. Next, she spices up the ultimate movie snack with Sweet and Smoky Popcorn.

Bucatini Marinara with Sausage

Mary Nolan

4-6 servings

INGREDIENTS

• 3 tablespoons butter
• 1 medium onion, diced (about 1 1/2 cups)
• 1 medium carrot, diced
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper flakes
• 2 (28-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
• 1 dried bay leaf
• 2 teaspoons sugar
• Kosher salt
• 1 pound bucatini pasta or thick spaghetti
• 12 ounces ricotta cheese, room temperature
• 1/2 cup julienne fresh basil leaves, for garnish
• 8 links of Italian Sausage

DIRECTIONS

Heat butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the onion and carrot and saute until golden, about 7 minutes. Add the garlic, oregano, and red pepper flakes and cook 1 more minute. Add the tomatoes with their juice, bay leaf, sugar, and 2 teaspoons salt and bring to simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, about 30 more minutes.

Prepare pasta while sauce simmers. Bring a large pot of generously salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package directions until al dente, about 12 minutes. Drain.

Remove sauce from heat, remove bay leaf, and carefully blend, in batches, to break up large pieces. Mix sauce with pasta. Serve individual portions topped with a heaping tablespoon of ricotta and garnish with basil.

For sausage: Cut each link evenly in half lengthwise. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat until hot. Place the sausage cut side down and cook, turning on all sides for even browning, until cooked through, about 10 minutes. Serve as an accompaniment with the bucatini marinara.

Mesclun with Prosciutto Grissini

Mary Nolan

4 servings

INGREDIENTS

• 8 grissini breadsticks
• 8 very thin slices prosciutto
• 2 teaspoons minced shallot
• 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
• 1 tablespoon white balsamic vinegar
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
• 1/3 cup canola oil or olive oil
• 5 ounces mesclun greens
• 1/2 cup thinly sliced fennel bulb
• 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted

DIRECTIONS

Wrap each grissini in a piece of prosciutto, on a slight diagonal to cover as much of the breadstick as possible. Set aside.

In a medium bowl, mix the shallot, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper together. Gradually whisk in the oil in a slow stream. Place the mesclun greens and fennel in a large bowl and toss evenly with the dressing. Distribute among 4 serving plates and sprinkle with pine nuts.

Take 2 prepared grissini and place them on top of each salad forming an “x”. Serve immediately.

Cook’s Note: Grissini are pencil-thin breadsticks that can found at specialty and Italian food markets.
